Gepunchtes septum

On my first attempt to stab me a septum to leave something went sadly wrong. One of the former Pierce had it wrong razor, and then gone so deep that, under the nose formed a red line that I got scared that it entirely out k?nnte grow. So get it: (

Then I read in “T?towier magazine” TV studio “Old Town Tattoo” L?beck in a report, which I found very appealing. In particular, there erw?hnt that Pierce also puncht, and since my septum anyway something should be thicker, I decided then daf?r, the piercing punches to leave.

Said than done, so the train and 250km after L?beck … The studio was absolutely professionally equipped, with separate Steri-room, head high tiled bar area, just everything your heart desires. The Pierce, Herman, has also worked very professionally. The procedure itself was, as always, actually quite quickly. After viewing gr?ndlichen the nose and the Anzeichnen came the punches. We had our login 3.2mm decided, since a matching daf?r retainer verf?gbar and I was in my job bad Septa with ring can crack;) The actual punches lasted maybe one second and did my feeling after less painful than the first attempt with Septa 1.6er a needle. I was also ?berrascht that there is actually no significant bleeding. The retainer was anschlie?end also used very quickly.

The healing was ?u?erst quickly in about 3-4 weeks and was absolutely straightforward, roughly comparable with gepunchten Ohrpiercings that I possess. It was also the nose after the third day little pressure, and the retainer was quite fast, easy to sit in the hole. I have maintained the piercing ausschlie?lich with Salzl?sung and I drove very well. Vollst?ndigen heal after four weeks for something to fit my ?berraschung a 4mm ring directly through the hole by without that I somehow h?tte heavily dr?cken or stretch m?ssen. About three months sp?ter I tried to Spa? then a 5mm ring, which also reinflutschte, then login to my taste but it looked a bit too powerful. So Back to four, but we are awaiting’s from, is postponed is not repealed;) scrumper

Erw?hnenswert is that the hole almost did not appear together. W?hrend the last pollination period because I had irritated my nose about 8 weeks no jewelry in it and had already bef?rchtet, the piercing so to have lost, but the 3.2mm-retainer flutschte then again without gr??ere problems through, one day fit sp?ter The 4-ring again … Accordingly, I wear the retainer is no longer where the ring is not there yet and I also drove well.

?u?erst an unpleasant mishap that happened between me was that my retainer from the mouth rausgenommen have:-o I had me in the night geschnaubt, and the retainer was on the one hand rausgerutscht and stood in one nostril. Because I wanted zurechtr?cken in half, I have with my Grobmotorik the retainer somehow rotated so that the open end and below him was somehow upwards gedr?ckt. Somehow, I still gedr?ckt times and it made “plopp” and he was gone … And in the mirror, he was no longer visible, so my girlfriend and I then towards the hospital because I got a little panic, because of where exactly festh?ngt or how well he’s back rauskommen w?rde;) The doctor there nipple shield, however, was anything but friendly and not just feinf?hliger endoscope examination, he assured me that there is absolutely nothing w?re … So Back home, and I came to me like the last idiot, and then looked at the bed ?berall after the retainer because somewhere he must be yes if he is not in the nose. But he was nowhere to be found, then when I was frustrated over the beds fall lie?, l?ste is something in my nose and I had quite times kr?ftig cough and he was. Why the doctor has not seen, is really a R?tsel me, but it st?rkt not just my confidence in ?rzte;) My girlfriend looked me right ?berrascht also, as I’ve aushustet retainer … Then I have the retainer slightly bent close and also as previously written sometime simply aufgeh?rt him to bear because the hole anyway offenblieb. A nice variant was also a concave black Pyrex Plug (concave, because I most O-rings absolutely not tolerated and in the nose somehow not pleasant f?nde), absolutely suitable for everyday & invisible and very comfortable, and above all, it can not even just lose;)

A really

In the fr?hen month of 2006 had stock of my piercings from 5 to more than 10 erh?ht my passion and what it was also more than doubled.
Previously, I had no piercing that, despite the long hair can rate h?tte see, very much regret my part.
Since l?ngerem I had the desire to own Pierce packed nat?rlich only at places absolutely invisible or not that was what we call w?rde as st?rend. Besides tongue and various praise band and 2 Outer Conches had already even turn my kv believe m?ssen.
But when it came to visible piercings, especially in the face 8 plugs body, it shied me before Pierce himself, which is not only simpler but also cheaper way been w?re.
Whether easy or difficult, a piercing in the face to stab himself, was against me and did not correspond to what I had as principles. They were only 3:
No facial piercings in ourselves.
No other piercings do.
Nothing, but I do not appear very safe.
Add, nat?rlich, w?ren probably my parents little excited at once as a “metal pimple” in my face to discover, not by them was signed.
That I finally have a visible piercing have wanted, I had only now ?berlegen what m?glich w?re.
Piercings in the mouth area were taboo, because of a costly, lengthy and expensive dental treatment. To Labret or otherwise, which the gums may also only gef?hrden k?nnte to ask me w?re not come to mind.
Eyebrow came login pers?nlich me just in how a bridge.
So Nostril or septum. Since I am 100 percent sure was that my septum is not w?rde, I decided to login a Nostril, probably also one of the gesellschaftstauglichsten piercings, in addition to normal praise. This fact influenced my decision but at least.
When I asked my mother, she was rather skeptical, not from p?dagogischen Gr?nden, but from optical. But also because I have many allergies and conditionally Niese making it very often and my nose plasters … That does not work very well could be, I was well aware.
But because I was sure my thing, I took myself a little reflection, and finally got the signature.
After I make an appointment in the “Stitch-day” Eisenach had made, so I had to just wait until the day finally came.
With a little more enthusiastic friend who insisted drau?en to wait, so I went on 21 18:00 May against clock to the studio.
I had firmly made piercing in the 1.2 mm (16ga) to sting, because I use to a small jewelry is not particularly handsome, and secondly it’s login Gr??e this usually only Nostril Screw and Bones there, with glittering stones, which I ?berhaupt not them.
After I had with Ronny gekl?rt could therefore already started. I decided a bioplastic Labretstud login and a normal titanium ball.
Previously, I had everything in cartilage piercings really gro?e circulatory problems, and calculated in this case also, with a really hearty pain.
V?llig precaution and silly, I wei?, Pinch me before Pierce always concerned K?rperteil to einsch?tzen to the pain and can rate since tr?nten me in the nose near the eye and it hurt.
Nevertheless, I was not particularly excited and was, as almost always, immediately with the Anzeichnung agree.

It must be extremely funny ausgesehen have, as I was with the giant NRT in the nostril on the couch sa? and squinted at the needle.
I f?hlte as good as garnicht, at once, tr?nte but my eye, the nat?rlich with a handkerchief shooting was done.
But now came so only the serious part: he had schlie?lich from inside the Labret stud use. The ziepte briefly, another Tr?ne rolled, and then everything was already gone.

According to the figures and the follow-Erkl?rungen I could go and got it from the friend said s?he ‘garnicht so bad’. Well thank you! All others, however, were absolutely thrilled, as I have, too.

To heal, I can not really say much: it was simply love dumbells barbells. It krustete not nix, however, remained me of the famous “pimple” on Nostril not spared, but disappeared again after a week.
Likewise, my Nasenfl?gel swelled slightly, but almost imperceptibly! Soon the swelling went Back and meanwhile are both Fl?gel again exactly the same thickness.
After about one months I changed the login optics only briefly on a ring. Looked good, but when st?rte nose plasters and the Stud is clearly besser. Also I found remained inside.

It was only hurt

I already have several weeks before my other piercing - experiences here on BME, and it made me once again packed.

Well, it should be ready. Finally, I wanted another piercing in my K?rper sp?ren and the desire matured finally visible. Until now, my piercings in secret, since I based my work has no visible piercing’s could have had.

But now it struck me and I finally decided something login my ego and my appearance to be done. My right Nasenfl?gel should be and I just had to have a connector ring and not have it.

But I do not wu?te whether it made a difference from the procedure or the appearance, I went to my Piercerin Hellen and informed me. They looked at my nose and they said that because of the cartilage and veins no problem with my nose was me a piercing in the right nasal wall to bite.

During our extended Gespr?ch she said, if I am not yet prefer a septum wanted to bite or perhaps both. She had already investigated and said that it v?llig was in order that I can bite both piercings w?rde.

I wu?te not quite what I should and took her first offer until I had decided to drink a coffee. I decided it until the whole move and I went back home. I am adopted by Hellen and she said to me that I really ?berlegen should be careful because it’s login but I was a huge step. I thought to myself yet, a strange login Pierce, but the money will earn.

I, however wu?te after a week that they are right and I am not immediately gedr?ngt had a decision. For example must be careful ?berlegt login and a pers?nlich it is further scope than what is on a whim can judge.

After a week was something it so far, my longing was begun and I have everything abgew?gt login and cons. Should it be this way. Hellen had once again managed by their nature.

I had my day and I rode the train into the city. On the way to the station to the studio, I was still torn, because I still doubted my decision. It was not ?berlegung more seconds, because my decision was yes eingentlich already established.

When I am piercing studio to come’m begr??te Hellen me with a knowing L?cheln, but they had no time login me.

They offered with a coffee on the basis of what I Auffregung gratefully accepted. After I drank the coffee shop and before had smoked a cigarette, Hellen came to me out scrumper piercing. We smoked again, against a cigarette-tensions together, and then I was of her in the shop asked.

We operated us briefly about the weather and how we do it and then she asked me ‘what am I to covet? “

I thought that they ?berzeugt me and I had me a piercing in the right Nasenflp?gel septum and the sting would be.

They just said ‘OK’ and I was looking for me the login jewelry from the two piercings. Login my Nostril piercing decided I login a small stone and my septum login login a ring, what I tags?ber upward turn was purely so that nobody sees him. I wrote the Einverst?ndniserkl?rung what they handed me, and then she asked me to a back room.

Without gro? what to say or to reply she said to me then that I lay on the couch should be. So now than I was because she asked me again if I have two mature piercing ?berlegt did.

I just answer yes, because I was so excited.

And then it was already happening. They disinfected, makierte point at the right Nasenfl?gel and wondered whether the placement would be ok. She looks again with a lamp after, after whatever and sat at the terminal.

She asked how my Freudin go and I replied that I do monentan solo and with her but I dar?ber’ve already talked. That was a great Ablekungsman?ver! W?hrenddessen she pricked by the needle and it was done without pain. Anschlie?end they quickly pushed the rod and it was accomplished. My piercing in my nose.

Hellen said now whether we still want to do. I was now so aufgekratzt and my Adrinalin was so up that I asked them whether they have h?tte evening. Nat?rlich should they go ahead and bite my septum.

Again, she sat back to the terminal, brought the needle out and now there were no more distractions. It did hurt, but it was sustaining lip labret. They removed the needle and sezte the ring. Wundersch?n! I both looked in the mirror.

Now after a few weeks, both verheit. The septum has not noticed and my pebbles in Nostril was aware of the women admired. Both are wonderfully healed.

finally my new daith

fter a Labret and 12 more or less normal earrings, I finally decided something original sting me to leave. So something that not everyone has. After I browse the Internet, something, I first came to the tragus, but unfortunately I had to say that I can not go, because for me is too small and directly next to it a nerve verl?uft established by the swelling testy w?re been. Since I do not challenge my Gl?ck wanted me to hell and come out any pain zuf?gen wanted, I was looking for something else ..

Well, for further search turned out that Daith me a better w?rde anyway.

So, Pierce: For the first Pierce where I was, and I also have my Labret sting lie?, there’s a net first case. Between T?r and Angel made it clear to me that it’ll be difficult piercing, but that he already sooo often razor h?tte … hard to believe, because a shop in a village and not in a Gro?stadt I was and yet nobody previously with a Daith have seen 4 plugs body. He has thus ?berhaupt not login my time, gave me nothing of healing time, in / on the ear nerves running etc. erz?hlt.

In any case, I wanted to go safe and got advice from another Pierce fetched, which I also already have good geh?rt. While had about 1 hour journey to follow, but how it is out, it has been worth it, because the more experience about Pierce verf?gte and add 20? incidentally was cheaper.

After some searching when Pierce arrived, he told me straight away that he was never voted razor (which was also not bad …. someday is always the first time .. at least he was honest with me) that But it is not a problem. Add, he said that there is something Fingerspitzengef?hl need in the ring and the ball durchzukriegen operation, since only a small ring should take, so it looks good.

Gradually came to me since then but doubts whether I do not sting but something else should. But I was just totally ?berzeugt like this that I now believe Daith wants me and probably animal ge?rgert h?tte, when I’m done now but not h?tte. Well, I thought so and I then married, not least because of Pierce in contrast to other seri?s also appeared and time has taken me login. Add, he was so loose that my Nervosit?t he has taken and so the whole made pleasant.

After disinfecting and gr?ndlichem record so he pricked by the needle, which Ohrknorpelpiercings so hollow inside, so the cartilage is not verdr?ngt but rausgestanzt, which accelerates the healing process. Much to my Verbl?ffen has actually done ?berhaupt not hurt. Only a small trick, as if you are concerned with holding a needle in the finger or so stings.
But then came the ring: as I already have read, it was something unpleasant, because the ring is already gr??er as the needle and now has something wehgetan. But after he had the ring and the ball reingeklemmt had, I had no other problems, such as dizziness, ?belkeit or otherwise. I could also get up and in the mirror to admire my latest achievement and I was just thrilled.

All in all it was not so bad and I have it presented to me really worse after I now so often from circulatory problems and terrible pain after geh?rt did. If one is a piercing stings you have now a little pain in time.
After the stinging I have no more problems. As with ordinary praise insists it is a little bit, but otherwise I noticed nothing … and even a look in the mirror on my new Daith makes everything competitive.
I can add dumbbells barbells any rates only that he is against any piercing a Pierce examined the frank with him and that cases of 2nd Opinion catch.
Ultimately, I can only say that I am with my new Daith total gl?cklich am and I hope that it is not entz?ndet. In half a year, I now still a Rook on the other side can bite and I go back guarantees “Trust”, because the confidence to the other, so to speak, when Pierce is zero.

Yet the general Daith:
Should one care to water the region around the piercing soak the crust gently with a Wattest?bchen remove the ring and then gently rotate disinfected. As with any Ohrknorpelpiercing can the healing time of up to 6 months. Lost in the ear (according to Pierce) no facial nerve, so there is only a risk that it sau hurts, but not one that any L?hmungen or so gets.

Eyebrow piercing

piercings Site
piercing cool
yahoo piercings

An eyebrow piercing is a type of body piercing done through the eyebrow, usually vertically. Eyebrow piercings are relatively common facial piercings. They may be pierced anywhere along the eyebrow from directly above the eye to the edge of the eyebrow.

Eyebrow piercings are a type of surface piercing and share the risk of migration and aftercare issues that all surface piercings have. Usually they take 6-8 weeks to heal, but they are easily irritated, often by casual contact on the part of the bearer, which can lead to much longer healing times or migration. Makeup or other beauty products that are applied to the face can also irritate the piercing or cause it to become infected.

Jewelry

Barbells, curved barbells and captive bead rings are all common jewelery types worn in eyebrow piercings. All of these jewelry types put varying degrees of pressure on the piercing, which can cause irritation or migration over time, especially in fresh piercings. Unlike many other surface piercings, surface bars or other appropriate jewelry is not always used in the initial piercing, and the use of more commonly available body piercing jewelery often creates an unnecessarily large risk of migration or rejection in eyebrow piercings.

Placement

“The usual place to pierce the eyebrow is at a 35 degree angle from the outside corner of the eye (see illustration on front cover), however, it may be pierced anywhere along the eyebrow from directly above the eye, to the edge of the eyebrow. The eyebrow should never be pierced further in than directly above the eye, because of the presence of the three major Supra-Orbital nerves, piercing one of these nerves can cause permanent damage.

The piercing is usually done at an angle to make the ring sit better, if the piercing is done vertically it sits directly outward and has a greater likelihood of migration (see migration). There is a variation of eyebrow piercings invented by “Angel Binnie” a famous American piercer, this piercing is done horizontally just under the eyebrow so that the ring hangs downwards.”

Healing

The piercing will take approximately 6-8 weeks to heal,[[2]] some people may take longer though, the better you care for the piercing the quicker it will heal, and the less problems you will have. Eyebrow piercings can sometimes be very problematic, this is for several reasons, the skin where the piercing is done is quite thin, and contains a lot of hair follicles and doesn’t have much tissue underneath to give it strength. Eyebrows are there to prevent any dirt from falling into the eyes, and therefore the dirt gets into the wound. The piercing gets knocked around a lot when you sleep, and movement hampers the healing process.

Migration

Migration means the movement of the jewelry out of the skin, in the same way that the body forces out a foreign object like a splinter, it can cause the jewelry to migrate. The amount of skin taken by the initial piercing will decrease until the jewelry eventually grows out altogether. It doesn’t matter how well the piercing is done initially, migration can still occur. If you are really concerned about migration, it’s best to get the piercing done with a barbell.

Infection

Because of the dirt which gets into eyebrow piercings, movement, and the amount of hair follicles near the wound, eyebrow piercings are prone to infections. You must be diligent with cleaning to prevent infections, however if an infection does occur it can turn nasty very quickly. Because there is no tissue under the skin of the eyebrow, the infection can quickly turn into a large cyst. The area of the piercing can become very red and tender and there can be a large amount of discharge from the wound.

If an infection occurs, consult a medical professional. The easiest method to remove infection from the wound is the application of a hot compress. Get a clean hand towel or paper towel and hold it under very hot running water, test the heat of the compress so that you can just bear the heat on the wound. Be careful not to apply it when it’s too hot as this can result in a bad burn.

Hold the hot compress on the wound until you feel the heat dissipate altogether, remove the compress and gently bathe the wound with warm, salty water. Don’t squeeze the piercing to remove any infection, just apply very gentle pressure with a clean tissue, repeat the hot compress a couple of more times until all residue is removed from the wound.

Follow this process twice a day until the wound settles down, if this doesn’t alleviate the infection you will have to see a doctor for antibiotics. The doctor may tell you to remove the ring, don’t do this as the jewelry allows any exudate to come out of the wound, if you remove it there will be no way of allowing the pus out of the wound. If antibiotics fail to stop the infection you have no choice but to remove the ring, however in my experience this is very rare.

Piercing Guide Introduction

Piercings are considerably more simple than tattoos, but they can also be more complicated. They are simpler because they’re not as permanent, so the commitment isn’t as great. You also don’t have to choose a design that is special and meaningful, or spend hours searching for the perfect picture. Unlike tattoos, they’re available (legally) to younger teens and are a lot less expensive.

However, the reasons they can be more complicated are that there are so many different styles to choose from. There are different pain levels and healing difficulties with each one. There are many different areas of the body that can be pierced, some safer than others. Knowing these factors can help you to make the right decision when thinking of getting a body piercing.

This guide will serve as a source of information for some of the more well-known piercings. It will inform you of where they are located, what they look like, what kinds of jewelry are best and the expected healing times. It will help you to choose the right piercing artist, and provide instructions on how to care for your new piercing. Eventually, more piercings, including less-common ones will be added.

Consult this guide when you consider a body piercing, and pass it along to your friends if they are thinking about it. Your best defense against a piercing disaster is knowledge.

My Amazing Industrial (At Last!)

I had wanted an Industrial for about 6 months, ever since I saw the amazing pictures on BME. I usually went through a phase of liking certain piercings and then going off them but this piercing was different!

I had been begging my dad to let me get it done for about a month, and every time he told me the same thing. “Not until your 16!!” but I kept on at him…. Deliberately trying to make him sick of me asking, so he would let me! Finally, after pestering him all day, he was in a good mood [which is rare!] and said I could have it done if I took full responsibility for the Consequences. So, of course I said hell yes!

The next day, went to get it done…I was originally going to go to a

well-known studio, in Croydon and they charged Ј35 for the industrial…Which, I thought was an ok price for the two holes I was going to get. But, being the impatient person I am, on the way to a friend’s house, I went past a studio in Bell Green and I just couldn’t wait any longer! My legs were shaking a bit but I was willing to go through with it.

The place was very clean and as I walked in I could hear a tattoo being done, which put me more at ease because it felt like, ‘well I’m not the only one going through this kind of thing right now..’ We asked for the piercer and a man jumped up from his chair with a big smile on his face…It kind of scared me at first because he looked a little TOO eager to punch holes in my skin than I thought he should be! My mum [who was thankfully with me] told me to follow and we went into a little white room, with one of those doctor’s beds. I was a little worried because I thought it should have been covered with something and it wasn’t, but then seeing all the certificates on the wall made me feel better.

I told the guy what I wanted done, and which ear, as I sat on the bed and my mum took the seat across from me. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get it done; apparently you have to have a certain type of ear…But, luckily, he laughed and said that mine was fine and I wasn’t an elf or anything!

He took ages, talking to me and preparing everything…I watched as it was autoclaved and I felt really reassured.

He spent at least 5 minutes, marking where the holes would go and measuring the angle where the bar would be.

He let me check it as much as I wanted. We changed the position of the marking about 5 times. He was really patient and helped make sure I was sure I wanted the bar there. I asked, “Why couldn’t the top hole be closer to my scalp”? And he told me that as I have long hair, it’s likely to really irritate it when it’s healing and rub a lot. It’s much better to have the bar a little bit further away from the head.

He then cut a thin piece of plastic tube [PTFE] and told me I can’t have a metal bar for around 3 months, as it’s not flexible enough for a new Industrial piercing. The PTFE is better to sleep on than having a piece of metal in your ear until it’s healed.

I thought you were not meant to put anything but metal in a new piercing. I have learnt there are other safe, hygienic materials that can be used Navel Piercing
.

During this time my mum was filling out the consent form because I’m only 15, not 16 yet!

We must have been talking for about 10 minutes and I asked all the questions that had been bugging me…I think I gave him a run for his money to be honest. It’s good to know\ask everything, after all, the piercing is going to be on your body not theirs!

Here are some things I asked:

- How long will it take to heal? “About 2 months, depending on how much blood supply your body gives the area.”

- Where can I get jewellery? “You have to get an industrial bar custom made after the PTFE one. Nearly every ear length is different. Your ear will have to be measured so the bar isn’t too tight or too long and heavy”.

- Do you pierce with one long spike and carry it through to the second hole, or two separate needles? ” 2 separate needles”

- Will I get small bumps on the holes when they have healed up? “No, your likely to get bumps if your cartilage is pierced with a gun or you don’t do proper aftercare”.

“DO NOT GET PIERCED WITH A GUN - because it damages the surrounding tissue, it’s better to pierce with needles for that reason.”

- What size jewellery am I going to be able to put in it? “1.6mm”

- What’s the difference between an INDUSTRIAL and a SCAFFOLD piercing? “They are the same, you can just call it one name or the other.”

So, at this stage I had stopped shaking and I felt so excited to be able to finally get it done. I watched him get the needles out of the packet and place them on a tray. He changed his gloves again and then cleaned down my ear with this stuff that was blue and smelt like antiseptic. I liked the smell; it made me feel like the procedure was going to be hygienic!

He kept asking if I was okay and he said, “I’m going to do the top hole first”.

I tried not to smile, which was strange, because I was really pleased about getting it done so I wanted to. Also, I decided to sit on my hands, because I didn’t want to flinch, lash out or tear my ear! It helped a lot so I do actually advise it!

He clamped my ear and told me to take a deep breath. I knew what was coming next.

The first needle went through, and it felt like it was really slow…I can only describe it as a very sharp pinch. It made my ear feel quite hot, but not burning. He got the second needle and I thought. ‘ Oh no this will hurt more because my ears already been pierced once’.

Well, it did hurt more but not much more and it was bearable. Next, he sprayed the PTFE bar again with antiseptic. It was the same size as the jewellery I was eventually going to put in it. [1.6mm]

[NOTE: The bar should be about 2cm longer than your actual ear to make up for swelling].

He started to push it through and this really hurt a lot more than the actual piercing! It was bearable but it wasn’t nice because it was rubbing on an open wound as it were. It felt like my ear had been torn and something was pulling it harder. I took a deep breath and clenched my teeth a bit. My ear started to burn and felt very sore but I didn’t even care because I had done it! ALMOST!

The guy [who was really nice and made me relaxed through out the whole procedure] kept saying, “Are you okay?” and that I was being really brave.

Which I was!

He gave me a few seconds break before he put the tube through the top hole. Unluckily for me the bar slipped out of the bottom hole so I had to have it put back in again but it was over quickly enough!

I actually said to him “Is it done yet?” and he said that it was already through. I couldn’t even feel it go through, I think my ear was a bit numb by then. He screwed the stainless steel balls on the end and it was done!

He told me:

“Now you wanted this piercing, so what you are going to do for me is look after it well. Don’t use any lotions or creams on it, nothing but salt water [Saline solution] twice a day until it’s healed totally”. He also went through all the aftercare instructions with me and told me not to touch my piercing and to be careful when washing my hair.

I thanked him and had a quick look at my new improved ear! I loved it and couldn’t wait until I could wear metal jewellery in it.

I paid him Ј45! Which I thought; OH NO! More than the other place! But, for the service I got I was more than happy to pay more money.

I would recommend that place to anyone in the London area as I am very pleased with my results.

Just wanted to say, if anyone’s thinking about getting an INDUSTRIAL, be BRAVE and go for it! In my opinion it’s well worth it if you get it done properly and with a needle NOT a gun.

Just remember to look after it, no matter how annoying and time consuming it feels! I will definitely be getting more piercings in the future and I can’t wait!

I have now had this piercing for 3 months and it’s coming along wonderfully.

Although, I noticed two small red bumps around the holes at about 6 weeks. I thought it was a keloid as I’m sure a lot of people do. In my case it wasn’t, it was just a little bit of scarring. If you come across this problem, the way to TOTALLY get rid of the bumps is to:

- Buy some ‘Pure Tea Tree Oil’ (Don’t worry about diluting it, it won’t harm you). And put it on the bumps twice daily, and rub it in with cotton buds after your salt soaks. It took about a month to get rid of them. Just be patient and keep at it because it does work!

If anyone would like to contact me to ask me anything about my experience, feel free to E-mail and I will try to reply and help you out as much as I can.

My beautiful daith piercings

It was nearly two years since my last mod — my lovely tongue piercing. I had been itching to get more since then, but either a lack of money or time has stopped me. About a month and a half ago I was discussing different piercings with a friend of mine, and I was showing her photos of them. I came across one of a daith piercing, and I fell in love. They’re very elegant, and can easily be hidden if your work place (or parents) are against mods.

I was a little worried though. I work in a lumber mill, and I didn’t want to get a piercing done just to have it get infected or something because sawdust got inside it.

I had nothing to do that day though, so I printed off the picture to show to my piercer, and asked the friend I had been talking to, Megan, if she wanted to come along. She did. I decided that I would talk to the piercer about my worries about my job, and would hope for the best.

We got a ride down to downtown Langley, and went to a couple stores so Megan could hand out some resumes before we made our way to Paul’s Piercing.

Paul’s has been my shop of choice ever since I decided that piercing guns really were not the way to go. I have never had a problem with them. It’s extremely clean, and everyone I have talked to there have been polite and helpful. I have yet to have a problem with any of my piercings — they’ve never been infected or anything. It’s been great.

Megan and I entered the shop, and I talked to the piercer that was in, Paul. I explained my job to him, and asked if he thought it would be any trouble. He told me that there was little to no chance of sawdust being able to get inside of the piercing, so it should be no worry. Excellent. I showed him the picture I had printed off, and picked out the jewellery I wanted (16g curved barbell). I paid, and he went to the back piercing room to put the jewellery into the autoclave. When he came back out he talked to me about after care for my piercing, and then the three of us talked about some current events until my jewellery was done.

Megan and I followed him into the back room (she claimed that she wanted to hear me yell, but if that was the truth she was to be disappointed), and I sat down. Paul marked my ears, talking all the while. I was not nervous in the least as I’ve never had a piercing really hurt, and I have a pretty high pain threshold to begin with, but that man could have calmed anyone down. I don’t think that anyone can be nervous when they hear about someone meeting their wife at a nude beach. It was hilarious. Back to the piercing though. After Paul marked my ears, I checked in the mirror to see if the placement was right. I asked to have the right one moved up a bit. After that, Paul got to work. He put his gloves on, washed the area I was going to have pierced, pulled the jewellery out of the autoclave, and got the needle ready.

The first one, the right one, went in without a problem. I felt little pain when the needle went in, and none at all after a while. Paul had no problem getting the jewellery in either, even though it’s a bit of an awkward placement. The left one was a little bit more difficult. The piercing itself went fine, and, like the first, I felt little pain. Paul had a lot of difficulty getting the jewellery in though. He asked me to lie down so the angle wouldn’t be so weird. Putting that one in hurt quite a bit more than the other, but still not anything I couldn’t stand.

Once that barbell was in and the ball was screwed on Paul cleaned it once more, then had me look in the mirror. They were beautiful, I was so happy! I thanked Paul, and Megan and I left.

I have had no problem with them at all. For the first three-ish weeks I cleaned them religiously, several times a day. Since then I’ve slacked off a bit. My job has been no problem either. Actually, a week after I got my piercing done I was given a new job to do, one where there is little flying sawdust.

I could not be happier with my daith piercings. I keep getting complements about them, even from people who normally have nothing nice to say about mods. Apparently they think the same of them as I do: they’re extremely elegant looking. I can’t wait to go back to Paul’s to get another piercing. I just need to decide what to do next!

Cheek piercing

Cheek piercing is facial body piercing through the cheek. There are two versions of this piercing. the first being a piercing that travels along the skin of the face and does not penetrate into the oral cavity which would make it a surface piercing, such as an anti eyebrow. They are often placed in symmetrical pairs and often in the dimples of the cheek, if the bearer has dimples to pierce. The second being quite different in nature as it actually penetrates into the oral cavity in similar positioning to its surface piercing counterpart. piercing peircing

Jewelry

(non-surface)Cheek piercings are normally pierced with 1.6mm flat backed labret studs, a type of barbell jewelry. The flat back provides comfort and lessens the chance of the jewelry damaging the teeth and gums of the bearer. The external end of the labret stud can be decorative in nature. Initial jewelry may be long, to allow for any swelling caused by the piercing. Proper length of jewelry in a healed piercing is important to protect the gums and teeth.

History and Culture

Permanent cheek piercing appears to be of primarily contemporary origin.
piercing world
Ritual cheek piercings were and are common throughout the world in both primitive and modern cultures. Perhaps the most well known of these rituals is the annual vegetarian festivals in Phuket, Thailand where “mediums” (both lay people and monks) pierce their cheeks with a bewildering array of objects in varying sizes, while in an altered state.

Smiley, How I love thee

This is my Second entry to BME. My first is “My Liptastic Journey.” This experience chronicles the self piercing of my Upper frenulum, also known as a Smiley or Scrumper.Well well well… Since I’ve found BME, I’ve admired Smileys. I hadn’t ever heard of them before I found this site. After a few more weeks of surfing, I decided that I really wanted one. I read a few experiences and found that they were generally, a quick, painless, easy piercing. That’s the truth.

After I decided I wanted one, I had the issue of getting it done. At the time, Not only was I broke, but since I got my lip done, My mom wasn’t really up for another visit to the piercing place. So then my mind traveled to other places. I settled mentally on having a friend pierce it. A friend of mine is piercing savvy, and said she’d done her’s once. I was stoked. I asked her if she’d be up for it, and she was! She said she needed to order more needles, and that she’d do it another time. I waited. And as things seem to turn out, It just didn’t happen.

A few months later, I was browsing BME as I often do, and saw the scrumpers again. The Piercing flame within me lit anew! I NEEDED it. I asked her and again, she was out of needles and stuff. We decided to do it “later.” After a while…I thought about the experiences I’ve read And decided that I’d probably have to do what most people do for this piercing…. Piercing myself.

I was generally too much of a girl to pierce myself. I do my own stretching which is no big deal, But actually piercing myself? Hah. I was afraid. I took my piercing kit into the bathroom with the intention of switching lip rings. I took out a needle I had. I went over to the mirror and pulled my lip up. I poked it a few times. Ouch. I had expected to feel nothing up there, but I sure was wrong. So at that point… I decided not to go through with it. I switched rings and put it out of mind.

A few weeks later, I wanted to try again. I got all set up in my room this time. I set up a mirror, I set down a towel and laid out my tools. Before me I set: A Bowl of alcohol, the needle, and a small 16 gauge CBR. I Sterilized the jewelry and needle, and pulled my lip up, inspecting my upper frenulum. I pinched and pulled on it. I guess I was ready. I pulled up my lip grabbed the needle out of the alcohol. I took a few deep breaths and positioned the needle. I decided that I was going to pierce pretty far back, because I had read that the deeper you pierce it, the lower the chances of rejection. I exhaled and pushed. And I felt the needle go into the skin just a little and then I felt an odd pressure. I could see that the needle was kind of.. stretching the skin and not going through. I let go of my lip to take a little break before trying again. I left the needle in, and after a few seconds it just fell out. That was pretty sad.

After a swish of Listerine and another dip into the alcohol, I was ready once more. This time, After a firmer pressure, I actually got the needle through. I didn’t bleed or hurt, it was just generally uncomfortable. I quickly yanked the needle out and grabbed the CBR. I tried to slide it into the pinhole I had made, but that was a total no-go. Another quick break and I was ready to go again. I was DETERMINED! I bent the needle into a kind of… “C” shape, and poked it through the spot I had before. This time, I just left it. I sat there for 5 minutes with the needle in. After that. I slid the needle out and put the CBR in. Even now, I find that the easiest way to get it in is NOT to pull up your lip. That tightens the tissue. It’s easiest to just slide the jewelry under your lip while the webbing is relaxed.

Now I’ve had it for well over a month and its healed up just fine. I love my smiley.

I probably shouldn’t have to tell you this, but piercing yourself is a BAD IDEA. Its much safer and easier to have a professional do it. Don’t follow my bad example and pierce yourself. But, If you have it in your dense little head, This is a good beginner piercing.
